BUHARI PROMISES TO NAME HIS CABINET THIS MONTH
President Muhammadu Buhari while speaking at a joint news conference yesterday in Aburi, Ghana, with the Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama promises to name his cabinet this month of September.
It would be recalled that since May 29 this year that President Buhari assumed office as Nigerian President, he has solely run his government alone without ministers, an act considered by some Nigerians to be against the principles and ethics of Democracy.
After his 100 days in office many Nigerians are beginning to have a rethink about the acclaimed credibility of president Buhari who in recent times have favoured most of his ethnic and religious brothers in most of his political appointments without due regards to the principle of Federal Character.
While addressing the press, he said: “The first thing I did after I came into office was to reorganise the military and clear orders were given to them in terms of retraining, re-equipping and redeployment of troops.
“In the northeast, the military is gaining ground and Boko Haram has been limited to the Sambisa forest.
”Internally Displaced Persons are gradually moving back home and they are being reintegrated into their respective communities….”
Many Nigerians do not however agree with the above claims by the Nigerian President to be significant achievement, as many still believe that nothing concrete has occurred within his 100 days in office.
