GROUP APPEAL TO BUHARI TO PROBE OSHIOMHOLE ON LOCAL GOVT. ALLOCATIONS, ECOLOGICAL FUND, EROSION CONTROL, AND SURE-P AMONG OTHERS
A group based in Benin, Good Governance Without Borders(EDOSA) have unequivocally called on President Mohammad Buhari to investigate the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliyu Eric Oshiomhole over the use and abuse of public funds in the state, to prove that he is serious with the war on corruption. .
The group in a press statement signed by its secretary-general, Dorcas Bello stated that a lot of dirty revelations will be unearthed if Buhari turns his searchlight on Edo state Government under Oshiomhole in the past eight years.
Some of the areas we desire probes are the allocations to the 18 local governments in the past 8 years, ecological funds, monies sent to control erosion, SURE-P funds, among others.
“President Buhari’s tolerance for Oshiomhole is surprising, if the government intends to prove that it represents ‘change’ in totality, Edo State government should be brought to book for investigations without fear or favour. The people have become helpless in the face of this above-the-law nature of the Governor and so, we desire his intervention if he truly means business,” it adds.
